Bindx ("the app") is a mobile application that lets you scan, catalog, and organize your Pokémon card collection. This policy describes what data the app uses and where it is stored.
The app uses:
All collection data and card images are stored locally on your device. We do not upload your collection. A card photo is uploaded on purpose only in the case described in section 5b, which is off unless you turn it on; the one other way part of it can leave your phone is the screenshot in a crash report (section 5a), which shows whatever was on screen when the app failed.
Text recognition (OCR) runs on your device. Photos of your cards are not sent to the internet for recognition. The camera is used only when you open the scanning feature.
The app may use an internet connection to download or update the Pokémon card catalog (names, numbers and card images) used for recognition, and to look up card prices. No personal data or card images of yours are sent in those requests.
If the app crashes, hits an internal error or gets stuck, it sends a technical report to our error-reporting provider, Sentry, so we can find and fix the problem. A report contains the error and where in the app it happened, the app version, the device model, the operating system version, the screens and steps that led to it, and a screenshot of the app at that moment together with a description of what was on screen. That screenshot can show whatever the app was displaying — for example cards from your collection or the photo being scanned. A report never contains your name or any account, because the app has none. We have configured Sentry not to store IP addresses. Reports are stored in the European Union and deleted after 90 days.
When the scanner cannot identify a card, the app can send a diagnostic report to our error-reporting provider, Sentry. The report always contains technical data only: which catalog was searched, the recognition scores, the candidate card ids and the app language. It never contains your collection, your name, your device identifiers or a screenshot.
The photo of that card is included only if you turn "Improve scanner" on in Settings → Privacy. You are asked once, the first time you open the app, and the switch is off unless you say yes; you can change it at any time in Settings. If it is off, no scanner report ever includes a card photo. When it is on:
If you use the export/backup feature, the app creates a file on your device or lets you share it. You choose where that file goes. We do not have access to your backups.
We do not sell or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing. The app uses third-party services for the card catalog, for card prices and — as described in sections 5a and 5b — Sentry for crash and scanner reports; their use is limited to the technical data described above, the crash-report screenshot described in section 5a, and the card photo you may opt into sending.
Your collection stays on your device, so you can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing the app's data in your device settings. Crash and scanner reports are not linked to you; they are deleted automatically after 90 days, and you can ask us to delete them sooner at the address below.
We may update this policy occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
